Sabrent SuperSpeed USB 3.0 to 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (NT-1000) Review!

Sabrent SuperSpeed USB 3.0 to 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (NT-1000) Review!

Nowadays, more and more computers are ditching the full ethernet port in order to shrink the thickness of the laptop and make it as thin as possible. Apple has successful done so but buying their ethernet adapter is not always that affordable. Otherwise, you can purchase this product viaAmazon US for about $30 ($29.99) with free shipping and special thanks to our friends at Sabrent for sending this out to review!

This product don’t have the amount of pros and cons that you may expect from a very high-end product, such as a laptop or smartphone. It don’t even come with any additional accessories that make it stand out from the competition. The pricing is very nice and the fact that it’s compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux is a plus all on it’s own. But, this is expected from Sabrent since a large majority of their products feature this wide range of connectivity. They have yet to fail us and we expect nothing but the best from them in the near future.

Luckily, I upgraded my laptop during December and it features a USB 3.0 port on the right side. This allows me to accurately test accessories like this one. It’s USB 3.0 but USB 2.0 backwards-compatible just in case you don’t have a computer with a USB 3.0 port. But, I highly recommend seeking to upgrade soon cause the USB 3.0 made a huge different in Internet speeds. I was indeed able to reach close or even above a little 16Gbps when it was connected to my USB 3.0 hub. Otherwise, it would reach between 14 and 15Gbps. It’s not terrible but doesn’t fully live up to what Sabrent has planned out for us.

Moving on from the cable and to the ethernet portion itself you will find that it’s sporting a matte design which does attract greasy and oily fingerprints. It’s very nice looking but a pain the backside to have to clean off the dust particles that are attracted to it.

Last but certainly not least is the ethernet port and it’s beauty. Remember when you had a tower as your desktop and the ethernet PCI had indicator lights to indicate activity and connectivity? Of course you do, it’s also featured on this product but not really noticeable since it will probably be on the side your laptop. In conclusion, I love the product and highly recommend checking it out if you need a new ethernet adapter or one for the first time.
