Where does the Lumsing HiFi MM526 Bluetooth Speaker exceed?

Before I can even get to this portable-size beast I want to discuss Lumsing and their packaging. Lumsing is a new company to us and myself, they have made a great First Impression with the first product that I reviewed from them not too long ago – the Lumsing 10400 mAh (LUM-008-01) Portable Rechargeable Battery. It’s a beautiful, elegant, lightweight battery that packs a punch even for my battery-sucking Samsung Galaxy S4!

Believe it or not, but I use that very product to this day. Back to the HiFi MM526, it features a unique product box that includes Parameters on the right side and quick specifications on the left side. I have seen this technique before in which it limits the amount of paperwork that need to be printed. Lumsing is going eco-friendly in every product that I review from them. Enough with the box and onto the star of this here review.

The HiFi MM526 is available in multiple colors: Blue, Green, Grey, Orange, and Hot Pink – I have the Blue and it’s a beauty! The main body is coated a blue silicone-like material that helps seal the functions and buttons from water. It’s a water-resistant portable bluetooth speaker; a little twist for this story. It also makes using the buttons a lot easier without giving to much feedback. Let me explain:

Front:

  • Play/Pause Button
  • Plus Button
  • Minus Button
  • Answer/Redial Button
  • Battery Indicator LED
  • Microphone Pinhole
  • Bluetooth Indicator LED

There’s a con within this area, but I will get to that later. As far as the LEDs are concerned, the Battery Indicator LED displays “Blue” referring to Charged and “Red” referring to Low Battery. On the other hand, you have the Bluetooth Indicator LED that blinks rapidly when pairing and becomes a solid “Blue” when it’s paired. I really do like how Lumsing designed this easy-to-use silicone-like control panel. Very, very nice!

Left & Right:

  • Lumsing Brand Name
  • Two Silicone-Like Indents
  • Back:
  • Lusming Information
  • Backpack Clip
  • Micro USB Port
  • AUX-In Port

The party may start in the front, but it continues onwards to the back. Lumsing understands that you will be taking this bad boy with you on many trips and the ability to listen to it while on the go would be nice. Don’t worry, they included a backclip that will connect to your backpack, suitcase, and so on to help you keep partying while on-the-go. Keeping with the water-resistant feature they covered these two ports with a silicone-like cover that is removable with your fingernail.

Top:

  • Dual Voice Coil Speakers

Bottom:

  • Power Button

Around the top of the speaker is a silicone-like banding that is featured in a gray color that also matches the bottom and the bottom banding. The Dual Voice Coil Speakers are no joke when it comes to crisp audio and a wide-range of volume. The HiFi M526 may be a little guy with a beautiful design, but it packs a punch that is hidden within.

In my testing, I was able to reach about 80% of full volume before distortion became unbearable. Like I said, the audio is crisp and detailed, but I recommend playing it safe and not hitting 100% of full volume. On the flip side, there’s a large Power button on the bottom. Press and holding it down for about 3-5 seconds will turn it on and bring it into pairing mode, repeating that step will turn it off. In my testing, I was able to receive about a couple hours on a single charge before heading back home to recharge it. The battery life isn’t horrible, but it doesn’t compare to the bigger Boombox Speaker from Bluetooth.

Where does the Lumsing HiFi MM526 Bluetooth Speaker lack?

The HiFi MM526 is a beast of a bluetooth speaker, that’s a fact, but it also has it shares of flaws that are needed to be noted. The speaker isn’t able to reach 100% of volume level before distorting becomes unbearable to the human ear. My recommendation is to simply play music at the safe volume level of just 80%.

The only other con, more personal, are the voices of the HiFi MM526. Rather than having two different voices, I prefer to hear a single voice which not only makes me happy, but will appeal to a lot more people that are “Try-It-Before-You-Buy it” Shoppers.

How does the Lumsing HiFi MM526 Bluetooth Speaker fit in my life?

Personally, I use the HiFi MM526 whenever I go longboarding with a bunch of camera gear in my backpack. The Boombox Speaker from Sharkk is too big, but this speaker is the perfect size especially with the included backpack clip. Longboard is fun and alll, but it’s more enjoyable when I’m rocking out to my favorite song.

Why should you purchase this for yourself?

You will be losing out on a great product if you pass it up, to be honest, it’s one of the best funsize bluetooth speakers that I have ever reviewed. It’s affordable, durable, water-resistant, and has a killer bass. Dare I say more, my friends?
